Happy 3rd Anniversary! You should celebrate by giving each other (or fans should get you?!) items in these catagories:
    3rd Anniversary Symbols

    Traditional: Leather  (portfolio, mayhaps?)
Modern: Crystal/Glass (champange flutes are lovely…)
Flower: Fuchsia (who doesn’t love getting flowers?!)
Gemstone: Pearls/Jade (a pearl jewlery set would be fun)

Since I’m broke, I’m sending you best wishes and prayers for more highly successful years to you and the blog!

Congratulations on this milestone, Deb! From the titles of the posts alone, it’s obvious how much fun you’ve been having along with sharing important ideas and information. It’s a winning combo. Celebrating is such a great idea.

How about if you and your team, family or friends honor this anniversary by planning a “Day of Bests?” Take a day off for fun by going to some special local places. You choose a culinary theme like best breakfast, lunch and dessert spots. Or you could add to the mix, best museum, spa or movie house, depending upon your interests. Think about visiting places you’ve always wanted to go to, have heard are fabulous, but have not yet visited.

    Congrats! How about:
    1. a workshop for those of us with OCD tendencies – maybe on how to convert our non-OCD partner ; )
    2. an OCD gift basket: hand sanitizer, an AWESOME planner, a desk set, closet organizer
and this probably sounds crazy, but it could be so helpful!
    3. a health care co-pay (for a session with a therapist or for RX)

I have been watching “Hoarder’s” and “Hoarders:  Buried Alive” for motivation.  I finally had a “Crap Sale” for three days – practically giving the “crap” away.  I quit counting after number 42 of empty rubbermaids, boxes, etc.  It feels so “freeing” to see the empty storage containers!  Thank you for all the inspiration.  However, as I look around, I think I could do another “Crap Sale” (but I won’t at this time – too tired).  It was a lot of work but so worth it.  I had tons of happy shopper’s.

  • Carol Richard

Trophy de-clutter idea:  My son wanted to throw out all of his trophies from his past.  I couldn’t do it!  I removed all the metal-award part attached to a trophy; then “filed” that metal (plastic, whatever) in an old-fashioned photo book (the pages are “sticky-back” (?)).  Then I donated the “used” trophies (minus the “award plate” to his school for re-use!   I was able to clean out a huge rubbermaid!  Yeah.

  • Carol Richard

Hairbands now organized:  My hair is usually in a ponytail.  I keep my “hairbands” by color on a circular belt hanger.  So easy to use!

  • Carol Richard

Mitten storage (for those of us “Up North”)  — I use the hanging plastic-shoe organizers to store our mittens.

  • Carol Richard

Bracelets, rings and/or watches:  I use large key rings with a “clasp” to store these & then hang on metal- or wood-cup holders.  So easy to decide what you need to accessorize your outfit!

  • Carol Richard

Garage (“Crap”) Sale ideas:  I had so many items for the various holidays.  I finally did box lots – marked many for .25.  Customers couldn’t haul them out fast enough.  Made my heart almost jump out (and their’s too)!

  • Carol Richard

Garage (“Crap”) Sale idea:  I had lots of vintage doilies, linens, etc.  I measured, yes, measured (I have some OCD too) all of these items; then inserted the item in a clean plastic bag along with the measurement).  It was so easy for the customer to sift through the treasures!

    Hi Deb,
I have an idea. I am not sure how it will work. Have a skype party with video conferencing (not sure how many can be at party).  Each person brings her food concoction to the web cam to share/actually with her own family members.  The food concoction whether a dessert-cake, pie, cupcake, salad, sandwich, pizza whatever is fashioned to either illustrate organization, lack of organization or something which reminds them of Deb’s blog. As they show their food, they can explain verbally or in chat what it represents. Also, each person could tell what they have read on your blog and how it has helped them, share an organizing tip or something the would like you to cover in the next year.

Hi Deb!  Congrats to 3 years and counting…
I think you should celebrate by having a Field Day.  This would allow for mingling, socializing, fun, food and drinks! Not to mention marketing your brand.
Events would be centered around organizing, of course.  For example, organizing a particular space in a certain amount of time, making creative things with toilet paper and maybe small DIY type projects.
Think it could be loads of fun…

  • Jamie

Congrats on the 3 years! First, take a day off and go relax for all of the hard work you’ve done!
think it would be cool to do a photo/clean-up contest…Have readers send in “before” pictures of the cluttered room/house that needs to be organized…Then send in after pictures of their sucess they had using tips on your blog. Then you could pick a 3rd, 2nd, and 1st place to symabalize the 3 years!

  • Jamille Giles

Congratulations on 3 years of blogging. Your tips have been invaluable. Looking forward to many more.

  • Erica Carnes

Congrats :)  My idea is that you should give yourself a day of pampering and then a little shopping spree.  You could then show us how to organize those new clothes!

  • Tammy Pereira

You should celebrate by dancing around your house with the music up real loud!  Throw your self a special party for you!

    LayDeeBugLove at aol dot com

  • Talijolgus

You should celebrate by making and eating 3 cupcakes! or maybe 36 cupcakes (one for each month!) or maybe even 1095 cupcakes!

Maybe not 1095 cupcakes… unless you have an army to feed!

  • Erin Cook

You should celebrate by making a cake the shape of three and load it with candles and then create your own trivia pursuit on what your blog was on for the past three years and see who remembered the most

The best thing you could do for yourself is treat yourself to a spa treatment. Actually I provide such a service to friends on face book and my friends any where in Virginia. I can travel to Maryland and North Carolina and West Virginia too.

Let me provide you with a facial fondue. Basically, I make a home made fondue and you can have strawberries home made cookies and a pound cake (sorry store bought haven’t mastered this one yet).

The actual facial takes about 25 minutes. We use warm, wet wash cloths for the first 2 steps. And we apply only 5 products to face. It’s really easy to do yourself and I just guide you along to do a self spa.

We play a couple of games one of them is like a brain teaser. The other is who ever has the most referrals wins a prize.

I love spending time with the ladies and having the much needed girl time. We make it fun and I enjoy getting to know each person.

Get in touch with Marie Van Doren Mason I am friends with you on face book.

my idea is one that is organizational and it works for me so wanted to share- I bought a scrapbook sticker organizer that is vertical called the ‘clip it’ http://store.scrapbook.com/si-1-001.html?t2=storage+and+organization  I use it to organizer bills and notes and things to do and then just clip it up! I have sections for bills to pay, things to do, ideas about my work (I run a bath and body company) and I can sit here and spin it around and take things off and reclip it, I can hold a ton of things, so things dont have to be stacked or put away where I forget about it, I love being about to twirl my stuff around and  since its vertical it doesnt take up too much space. kelli hale kelli@crushedbotanicals.com

After doing a bit of research I found that the third anniversary symbol is either leather or crystal. So, put your leather jackets on and pour yourself some sparkling something into a crystal glass. Here’s to you on your anniversary and I wrote you a poem :)
Three years down, several more to go, let’s celebrate you and let the good cheer flow!

You can go to a horder’s house in a town near you and knock yourself out!  Oh wait, you probably have already done that, so no. How about go to a store and when they aren’t looking rearrange all their stuff! Run around and giggle and pretend to fly and hop. Receive joy in the faces of those around you!

I think you should ask your readers to choose one of your posts and demonstrate with before and after photos of how that particular suggestion helped them get organized.  You could then put the photos together and use them for a new post showing how different people adapt the suggestions for their own use.

  • Lshumack

you should go door to door looking in people’s windows…if their home looks too cluttered leave them your book =D make sure you stop by mine please!! hehe lshumack@gmail.com

Since you’re close to Halloween, why not have a costume party to celebrate? You could have Bill dress up as the organizing super hero, “SUPER – O.” You could post videos of “SUPER-O” throughout the party & maybe even have him do a stunt or two!

I would celebrate by giving yourself a day at the spa. You did the work! I for would do almost anything for a massage. Maybe you like them too, or maybe you prefer pedicures. Pat yourself on the back and tell us about your wonderful day.
