While I consider myself very organized, I do need to periodically get rid of those annoying offers in the mail that I have been approved for credit cards. I also need to get rid of old statements (bank and credit cards) since everything is available on line. My point is that I am miles (one hour’s drive) away from Annandale, VA so, it would behoove me to drive that far for a service that is only from 8 am to 11 am? Why aren’t the services available in Charles County and why are the services few and far in between (Prince Georges County in December)? Just asking and can appreciate that it is a free service.

Hi Thelma – One of the things you can to reduce those annoying offers is to prevent them from being mailed to you in the first place. You can stop junk mail by visiting this website: http://www.directmail.com/directory/mail_preference/.

Also, the PNC/NBC4 free shred events occur in several locations in the tri-county area and their previous one was in PG County. Though I’m not sure how they decide on the locations, we’ll keep checking for additional events and post them as soon as possible. Thanks for your comment, Thelma.
